Sunday Funday
Scottie you would have been so proud of our little girl today. She was a champ! She slept in until about 7:30 to begin the day. After she woke up she played for a good 15 minutes with Papa Doug and Grandma Leela. My dad loves making up songs and singing them to her...too cute! My favorite is Lyla, Lyla Chandler, Queen of the wild frontier. With having so many people home, Lyla wanted to stay up and play with all of her Aunts and Uncles. Her morning nap was pretty regular but her afternoon nap was amazing! She slept while I was able to join my family in a game of croquet. I came in third and my dad won. After our game we came inside and everyone except my mom and I watched a scary movie downstairs. Grandma Leela and I got about 20 minutes into a Christmas movie when she woke up. Lyla was such a good girl and stayed up so long after she ate so that we could all go out to dinner. She conked out probably two seconds after I swaddled her. It was a pretty rough evening though because we had to say goodbye to Brooke and James. They both mean so much to me and I felt like I barely saw them at all while I was home. I hate saying goodbye and now I have made it even harder by throwing Lyla into the mix...one more person to miss. Brooke and James I love you so much! It was so awesome seeing you. James thanks for making the special trip up to spend time with us. It meant so much! Lyla loves it when I sit her on my lap and say "Im gonna get your toes" and then I nibble on them. She grins so big. She is also trying so hard to giggle and is so close. She almost did today when my mom tickled her. Scottie I enclosed a picture of our sweet corn just to show you how amazing it looks! We all wish you were here. We brought up many Scott stories the last few days. My mom brought up the time we played croquet at night and all those nats were swarming your head for some reason. Can't believe we are going to see you in a little over three days. We love you so so much! I haven't told Ly that we are going to see Daddy soon because I am afraid it will keep her up at night because she will be so excited. We watch CMT every morning so that she doesn't forget the songs you sing her. Love you sweetie pie!
