Today was a big day for Lyla...she had her pictures taken at a studio downtown in Oelwein. My mom bought Lyla and Marlee matching Popsicle dresses and Max had a matching pink polo. This morning was a little hectic getting the kiddos all ready for pictures but we survived and made it to our appointment on time. The first set of pictures went great, and although Lyla didn't smile, she stayed calm. Then they tried to switch up the positions and wanted Lyla in Max's lap. This made her pretty upset because if you don't know already, Lyla hates sitting down...she seriously tries to stand up. So far the next 10 minutes Lyla fussed but I think we got a few good shots. After pictures we came home and I got Lyla down for a nap. While Ly was down I did a p90x workout with Hol that kicked my butt! It felt good to workout and sweat however. Like clockwork as soon as the workout was done, before I had time to cool down, Lyla woke up. Rocking her back down was nasty because I was so sweaty but she went back down and I was able to do some Christmas shopping for Lyla (I got a few dresses 50% off from Children's Place). Go ahead laugh that I am shopping for Christmas gifts in August. I am my Mother's daughter. This afternoon we played outside on the blanket because it was so cool out again. Lyla loves being outside and so do I. It has been so horribly hot in Texas poor Lyla can't go outside so we are loving the cool Iowa weather.
We also had some tummy time with Aunt Holly and had lots of smiles for Mommy this evening.
Tomorrow April, Isiah, Chad, Jill and Jason are coming into town because we are doing a semi-family get together at Lake Flossy. I love you so much Scottie. Glad you had a busy day today. 2 more weeks till you get to see your two girls!
