Iowa Here We Come!

So it was bye bye Indiana and hello Iowa today. After a long weekend of partying the Chandlers hopped in a car with Papa Doug and Drew Boy and headed home to Iowa. Lyla was such a doll for me the seven hour car ride. She got a new little blankie from Max that she loves to snuggle with so this made the trip more enjoyable. With a two month old in tow, I was expecting to stop a few times on the way to feed her and let her play. However, Lyla Bean slept late and woke up about 4 hours from Oelwein.


We stopped and fed her in a storage unit parking lot and then let her kick and play for a good hour. She slept again like a champ until we pulled off of the interstate, about 30 minutes from home. The last 15 minutes were a struggle but we made it home safe and sound.


Lyla layed out in the Hawkeye room and checked it out before her bottle. Unfortunately Lyla slept while we drove through Iowa City, so she didn't quite get to experience Iowa City yet. I guess we will have to make it back during football season so we can show her how true Hawkeyes earn their black and gold. We love you so much Scottie. Hope you had a good day. Lyla can't wait to skype when she is awake next. Miss you!!
