River Rat
So here we go again...another August away from Scott. As much as I absolutely look forward to going back to Iowa for three weeks, I also dread leaving. So in hopes of helping make the distance between us a little easier, here goes my daily blogs.
Today was a perfect Iowa City day. I have so many amazing memories in that town so it was only natural for me to want to take Lyla around to some of my favorite spots. We started off at Kinnick Stadium...Daddy's old stomping grounds. We let Lyla run wild all over the place. We met the Nile Kinnick statue, patted the helmet for good luck, and even tried to crawl through the gate to get inside. After we got back from Kinnick we all loaded up and made our way to the Coralville Rez. My sister Brooke and her husband James got an amazing boat so we all went boating for a few hours. Lyla loved the boat, she kept saying woo hoo and giggling. We made a pit stop at a beach to eat lunch and have some fun in the sand and water. By the time we got back to Brooke and Jame's house it was nap time, so we headed back home to Oelwein. We had such a fun day today, thank you Brooke and James for putting us up and taking us out on the water. We miss you guys already!
Scottie, we miss you so very much! Lyla calls out for you quite a bit throughout the day. We are all saying lots of prayers for your safety. Good luck on your first day of two-a-days. We love you so much!
