4 month checkup

We had Lyla's 4 month checkup today and it went really well. She tipped the scale at 13 pounds 6 ounces and 25.6 inches long. She was in the 90th percentile for height and 45th percentile for weight. The doctor said that he predicted if she stayed in at the 90th percentile she will be between 5'8 and 6' at full growth. Of course I am praying that I water down the gene pool. I would hate for Lyla to come at me in tears someday because no boys will date her because she is too tall. Aside from her growth she had to get her shots again. Scott finds this humorous and jokes that I am the one who needs consoling because I get more upset than Lyla. I didn't cry this time...almost did when I picked her up after the shots and she was crying to hard she couldn't breathe. Of course she was fine 5 minutes later. We don't go back until December 1st so that makes me happy. Hopefully she can stay healthy and out of the doctors office until then. The rest of the day we enjoyed family time. We went on a few walks, sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather. We also walked down to the baseball fields and watched the kids play. I explained to Lyla what baseball was and also told her that her Papa Doug played baseball and that her Aunt Brookie and Holly played softball. I think she wants to follow in their footsteps. Can't wait to come back to the mid-west to see you all. Still hashing out details and trying to figure out when we can get back. We miss our mid-west family so much!

Cereal

Today Lyla turned four months old. I had been looking forward to this day for quite a while because I was so excited about starting her on cereal. For some reason it seemed like such a milestone...her first bite of semi-solid food. She did a pretty good job...better than what I had expected. When I put the spoon up to her mouth you could tell she had no idea what was going on. We probably only got about 2 bites down the hatch but she had fun mashing it around in her mouth and spitting it out. I understand it's a learned skill so I will be patient. This evening when I fed it to her again she seemed to do better. Here are a few pictures from our little adventure with cereal.

Strolling

So of all the things we packed up and shipped to Texas there was only one thing that went missing...Lyla's stroller wheels. I only had a stroller base so I decided rather than spending fifteen bucks on replacement wheels, that I would purchase a stroller that she could use for years and years. Today the stroller arrived and after I put it together, Daddy, Lyla and I went for a stroll. She loved it of course and screamed like a girl the entire time. Along the way we saw our first baby snake (I freaked out) boys playing soccer, baseball and football. After about fifteen minutes we headed back home. Thank God it has cooled down in Texas so we have been able to enjoy being outside. I actually don't feel silly wearing Ugg boots like I did in San Diego. Enjoy the stroller pictures.

She put her up on the tray for most of the ride!

Almost Unpacked

I am mostly posting to show new pictures of Lyla. Not much else going on here at the Chandlers. We are still unpacking boxes. Scott is busy with football and I am busy with Lyla Bean. I also joined a Cowboys wives Bible study that is just wonderful! Hope everyone is staying healthy!

Thanks Aunt Apey for the onesie!
