I apologize that it has been so long since I have updated my blog. The past few weeks have been crazy busy. Last Monday our great friends Dan, Casi and their little girl Abbi came for a visit. They DROVE from San Diego to Coppell overnight and got here in the early evening on Monday. How wonderful it was to see them again. We became so close when we were in San Diego. We met Dan and Casi when Scott shared his testimony to the junior high kids at Community Bible Church (Dan is the youth pastor). He also spoke to the high school kids but we just fell in love with the middle schoolers. So we started going to church in the morning and Ampt afterwards. We really got to know the Browns while we were in San Diego and they truly are some of the greatest friends that we have ever had. So you can imagine how excited we were to see them. The last time we saw them was when we were saying goodbye at the airport. We had such an awesome time while they were here. I think the guys got to go out and do more than us girls but to be expected with an 8 month old and Bean. Here are a few of our highlights from their trip that are worth mentioning...
- Lyla and Abbi meeting for the first time. Lyla was pretty clueless but Abbi thought it was great. Some days they barely saw each other because they were on opposite schedules so when Lyla woke up, Abbi went down.
- Watching Dan and Scott push the babies in the stroller...yes they looked like a couple and it was great.
- Corn dogs, hot dogs, funnel cakes, Carmel apples, crazy ring cleaning lady, scary storm clouds and running in the rain at the State Fair of Texas.
- Casi taking the ADHD test and Dan and I giving up after question one!
- Apple pie apples from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and then re-creating them in our kitchen and eating them for the rest of the week.
- Dinner at Uncle Julios (Dan and Casi's first time eating authentic Tex-Mex).
- All of Casi's party fouls at Uncle Julios
- Casi singing All My Single Ladies in the car to the girls so they would stop crying...it worked too! Casi I can still hear you singing it in my head.
- Girls night when we got to watch a chick flick and Abbi decided she was old enough to watch it too.
- Dan's first experience with Texas High School Football...CRAZY!
- 2 words...CHICKEN EXPRESS
- Cheering on the Hawkeyes...the snuggie is good luck.
- Shopping downtown Grapevine and only making it into 3 shops before Lyla had a melt down
- Praying in the What-a-burger drive-thru so we could eat on the way home because the girls were cashed and ready for naps (seriously did we eat anything nutritious during their stay?).
- "Casablanca"
- The office wedding...too amazing for words!
- Gonzo patting Casi on the head when he left...too cute.
- Abbi deciding to cut about 4 teeth while she was here...poor thing!

What an adventure we had. Hawaii couldn't even compare to the time that we had. We miss you guys and even Abbi was looking at the pictures of her and her BFF. Love you guys.
