An Afternoon in the Park

The weather in New York was unusually warm so we decided to spend the day in the city. I was excited because I love New York so any chance we can get in, I'm there. Our morning started off getting organized for our adventure. Eventually we headed out and caught a morning train, stopped once and had to get on another train that took us to Penn Station. Wow was Penn Station AMAZING! It was ginormous with every store imaginable in the station. Literally I walked by a Kmart inside the underground station...so neat! From that point we walked a few blocks to get to the right subway station that would take us closer to Central Park. I absolutely love walking around New York City. It is so alive and busy and beautiful. The subway was fun. I had never been on the Subway system before so it was quite the experience. I kept thinking about the movie Ghost with Patrick Swayze when I was down there. After about a five minute ride we were let out right at Central Park. I wish you all could have walked out from under the subway station to see how beautiful the park was. It was definitely something out of a movie. It was so much fun being there because I had seen it so many times in the movies and on t.v. so it was fun to finally be there. We didn't explore too much of the park because we wanted to get to the zoo. The Zoo...by far the smallest zoo I have ever been to. We literally walked around the entire zoo in 30 minutes. Lyla had a blast and of course loved the hottest exhibit in the zoo. She squealed so hard at the bat exhibit. After a quick stop at the Dip n Dots stand we headed out of the zoo and back into the park. We couldn't stay long because we had a train to catch. The day went by so fast but it was such a fun experience. I am anxious to get back to the park and explore a little more. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
