From midwest, to west coast, to down south, to midwest, to east coast.

Well we survived the 17 1/2 hour road trip to New Jersey! I am happy to say it wasn't a horrible experience. Actually packing up and moving our stuff out of our Iowa place was worse than the day long car ride. We left at 3 a.m. (Iowa time) early Sunday morning. This was pretty tough because we left on my dad's birthday and we had just spent an awesome weekend with my family at the Wisconsin Dells. Unfortunately we had to leave extra early because we had to take into account day light savings and the transition to east coast time. The trip went absolutely wonderful. I was able to sleep while Scott drove. Once Lyla woke up we stopped and ate breakfast at McDonald's somewhere in Indiana. Lyla was great between breakfast and lunch. She played in her car seat and watched the Grinch dvd a few times before falling asleep for over 2 hours. Genius move on Scott's part to go out and buy the dvd player before our trip. We stopped again for lunch at Arby's in Pennsylvania and then for dinner again in Pennsylvania. We gave Lyla a bottle and she went to sleep around 9 p.m. est. We pulled into our new home around 10:30. We got in a few hours earlier than we had originally thought so that was nice. Our place is gorgeous...lot's of room and the people working here have been so good to us. I will take pictures and upload them once it's clean hah whenever that may be. Thank you for all of the prayers and thoughts. We are so happy to finally be out here and are hoping that New York is the right fit for Scott! Oh and we are urging you all to come and visit...we miss our families already!
