Anniversary!
Scott informed me tonight that for our anniversary we would be eating downtown San Diego at Flemings and he also got us a room at the downtown Omni. Our last anniversary with just the two of us so I guess he figured we needed to go out with a bang. I am just as guilty as Scott and I already told him what I got him for our anniversary. He loves to golf but is pretty inconsistent. We have been big fans of the Haney project so the show gave me the idea to get Scott set up with some golf lessons from a golf pro at Maderas golf course. My plan for him after he gets done with football is becoming a golf pro. We like to giggle about it. Pictures and details from our anniversary date will be up after the big day.

Deborah Visits!
Scott and I had such a fun week this past week with the arrival of his little, well not so little, sister Deborah. She arrived late Wednesday night and was here until Monday. A lot of the trip was spent going out to eat, eating ice cream, and watching movies. Her first day here was pretty laid back spent getting our feet pampered with a fresh coat of paint. Friday we spent the day at the mall and then went to see I Love You Man. The movie was really good and was capped off with a few pizzas from Papa Johns. Saturday we woke up and drove up to Huntington Beach to visit Scott's aunt and uncle, Tammy and Bob. They were amazing hosts and took us downtown Huntington. We walked the streets, ate at a delicious Mexican restaurant, and of course shopped in a lot of the cute shops. Tammy and Bob are always so good to Scott and I. She spoils me and Lyla all the time. They are both such blessings in our lives and have made living far from home a lot easier. The majority of Sunday was spent at Church as are most Sundays. We went to Ampt, junior high church, so we could show Deborah who we spend a lot of time with. After church we had Bible study and had really good conversations. After church we went and got ice-cream and ate dinner at Outback Steakhouse. Deborah started reading Twilight when she got out here and finished it before she left so we had to rent Twilight. I had already seen it but Deborah wanted to wait and read the book before watching the movie. Both of us dreamt of vampires that evening and giggled about it the next morning. Our last day was spent laying out, getting lunch at Pei Wei and then the dreaded drive to the airport. We had such a blast with Deborah and our time went by so fast. I love spending time with Deborah because she is what I would call a female version of her brother Scott. It is neat to see the bond that the two of them share. Deborah we miss you so much and loved every second of your visit!

C.H.A.T.
Scott and I have been going to Ampt (Junior High Church) these past few weeks because our friend Dan is the youth pastor at our church. We love helping out and hanging out with all the junior high kids. Dan is such an amazing pastor and has a special way of reaching out to these kids. These past few weeks we have been "getting back to the basics" and this week Dan preached on prayer. His sermon was very interesting and I wanted to share it with those of you who read our blog.
A lot of people might feel intimidated by prayer because they feel as though they don't know how to pray, what to say, or if God is even listening. Prayer is simple and God tells us in the Bible how to pray. The main point I took from Dan's lesson that I wanted to share with you all is C.H.A.T. These four letters can show Christians and non-Christians just how simple prayer is.
C-onfess: Confess your sins to the Lord. Simple as that. The Lord knows you are a sinner and all you have to do is confess your sins.
H-onor: Honor the Lord. Tell God what an amazing God he is.
A-sk: Ask the Lord. This is when you will ask him for help, guidance, patience, strength, healing. He can hear you!
T-hank: Thank God for all of the things that he has blessed you with in your life.
For those of you who might feel silly praying because you don't know how, or you never have, these four words show you just how simple it is. Scott and I feel really blessed to have such an amazing church and amazing friends like Dan who can help us grow spiritually every week.

Beach Day
April and I took to the beach today and had a great time. We drove down to Pacific Beach and ate at a bar/restaurant right next to the beach. After lunch we walked down to the beach and laid out for about an hour and a half. I used to absolutely love laying out but I can't lay down because Lyla pinches my nerves in my back which makes me light headed and faint. So I sat in a beach chair and tried to get as comfortable as I could. I was jealous of Ape, not because she looked so cute in her polka dot bikini, but because she got to lay down. After our skin was nice and crispy we made our way down to one of my favorite stores in Pacific Beach, The Pink Zone. The store is ridiculously cheap and has tons of adorable clothes. Shopping just isn't as fun when you are pregnant but it was fun to see Apey try on cute tops and dresses. After shopping we went and got strawberry shakes and headed home. No matter how many times I go to the beach, the vastness of the ocean blows my mind. God's creation is beautiful! All in all we had a low key relaxing day. I don't think I am going to let Ape leave on Thursday. She just doesn't know it yet.
P.S. Did I mention April and I saved a kids life today! Not from downing but from getting hit by a car. When we were walking down to the beach a older couple with about 3 kids crossed the street. Well they weren't paying any attention to one of the kids who was slower, who kept saying wait for me. Well he took off across the street and the idiot girl on her cell phone wasn't really paying attention. She had a stop sign but she wasn't really going to stop and was only paying attention to cars going by. Ape and I both yelled stop and ahh and it scared the little boy enough to stop and her to stop her car. Luckily her sun roof was down and she heard us yell and the little boy got scared enough to stop. I'm not kidding you, the child was about an inch away from getting run over. Just made me realize that God is looking out for us down here!

Disney Day
With April coming to town we had to make a trip up to Anaheim to see Mickey Mouse. With me being pregnant we decided to leave a little later and miss morning traffic. Once we arrived at the park we hit up the Jungle Cruise, where we saw tons of fake plastic animals. I forgot how cute the ride was. From there we hit up The Pirates of the Carri bean. This was the only ride that we got a little wet, but we loved seeing Jack Sparrow. After that we ate lunch and then made our way over to the Haunted Mansion. This is one of my favorite rides because no matter how many times I ride it, I still get so excited to go on it. After being scared silly we made our way over to Toon Town to meet Mickey Mouse. Meeting Mickey is and will always be the highlight of my trip to Disney. He is so adorable and for some reason I never think about it being a person in a costume, to me he is always Mickey. As I walked up to Mickey he bent down and kissed little Lyla. I told him that we both loved him so much. Once we finished meeting Mickey we walked over and had our pictures taken with Pluto. From here we walked over to a stand and had a present made for Lyla. By this time our tummy's were hungry again so we made our way over to main street. I got a cinnamon roll, only ate half of it because it was so big. Ape got chocolate covered strawberries and was so sweet to share with me. After our belly's were full we did a little shopping before heading to Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. I beat April this time but I am hoping that she will come back to San Diego so we can have a rematch. At this point in our trip we were pretty beat so we decided to call it a day. Disney is such a special place for me and I will always cherish every memory I have there. It was so much fun having just Apey there and I am looking forward to the day that the Bulmans plan a trip to Disneyworld. Thanks Ape for being my guest today. Crazy to think the next time I go to Disney it will be with my little Lyla.

April's Here!!
So last night I had quite the interesting evening. We had some friends stay for dinner and just hung out for a few hours. After they left Scott had planned on going over to one of his teammates house's to play poker at like 10 p.m. I didn't think much of it and was actually looking forward to have a few hours to watch Grey's Anatomy and Ugly Betty. After about an hour and a half Scott called and said he was on his way home. He said that guys had been there a while and that they were starting to phase out so he took off. I asked him if he won and he said he won 100 bucks. So when I heard the garage door open I thought nothing of it. As I was laying on the couch, during the last 5 minutes of Grey's Anatomy, I barely looked up at him as he walked in the door. I was so glued to the t.v. set when all of a sudden I noticed another presence in the room. As I looked up I was in COMPLETE SHOCK at who I saw...April!!!!! I finally know how she felt the few times I had surprised her. I was staring at her but couldn't fathom her being there. I put my hands up to my face, started crying and just said "Scott you never went to play poker did you". Probably for the first 10 minutes of her being there I couldn't wrap my brain around it. I had so many questions but of course I had to finish the last 2 minutes of Grey's so I could give her all of my attention hehehe. I guess everyone knew about it and they had all done a great job keeping it from me because I had absolutely no clue whatsoever. So as I type this my twin sissy is sleeping in the guest room and I couldn't be happier. I could barely sleep last night because I was still so excited. I am so happy and lucky to have a week with her and I will update you with our adventures as the week progresses. Thanks everyone for keeping this a secret!

Birthday Weekend
As much as I hate getting older I do love birthdays. My birthday weekend started out on Saturday night when Scott and I drove downtown to see Grease on Broadway. It was my first Broadway show and I loved every single second of it. The show was absolutely amazing from the singing to the dancing to the acting. The show was a little different than the movie but they were nice changes because I have probably seen the movie 50 times. The actors and actresses in this show were so unbelievable and filled with so much talent. Taylor Hicks, an American Idol winner, was the Teen Angel in the show and as much as I'd care not to admit, I did enjoy his short role in the show. The show lasted about 2 1/2 hours so by the time it was over I was pretty whipped. The next morning was officially my birthday. I woke up to an adorable birthday balloon, donuts from my favorite donut place, and cards and presents on full display. I think Scott was more excited for me to open my gift from him than I was and he made me open it right away. He spoiled the crap out of me and got me a Nikon SLR D40 camera...one that I had had my eye on ever since we got back from Texas. For the past few years I had been wanting a nicer camera to take to football games and concerts and especially now for baby pictures. Lyla got me a pair of ugg boots...she already loves to shop and has great taste in fashion...I am so proud of her! My parents got me an AWESOME deluxe waffle maker, a air popcorn popper, Oliver and Company dvd, and gift cards to Victoria's Secret and Nordstroms. They spoiled me as always. Apey got me an awesome Juicy Couture charm bracelet with a banana split charm and a shoe charm. After gifts we headed off to church, this week we went to Junior High Church. Scott and I really love helping out with the junior high group. They are all so sweet and adorable. Scott had another surprise for me because once we got out of the car he had a huge birthday cake for me to share with all the kids. It was so thoughtful of him and it made my day. After church Dan, our friend who is the youth pastor, called me up in front of the kids and everybody sang happy birthday to me followed by birthday cake. Following church Scott and I started a 6 week bible study that exposes how the devil is working to twist and manipulate things in our world to steer us away from Jesus. The first week was interesting full of great discussion. Once we finished our bible study we went to Wings n Things, my favorite place to eat wings. It was delicious and I was thrilled that we went there for my birthday. After wings and things we came home and have been relaxing the rest of the day. Scott knows I would rather have pie than cake so he bought me a GINORMOUS apple pie that is sitting on the counter waiting to be cut into. Birthdays are so special to me because my parents have always been so good about making you feel like you are the most important person on the world for that day. I think one of the reasons they made it a point to make birthdays so special was because they had six kids so for one day out of the year the attention was all on you, or you and your twin sissy. I am so blessed to have such an awesome family and an amazing husband! Scott was so thoughtful to get me a card and gift from Lyla. I know he is going to be such an amazing daddy and is such an amazing husband to me. Thank you everyone for all of your birthday calls, cards, and gifts. You all make aging fun! I love you all so much!

Well Hello There!
On Wednesday night Scott and I got to see our little Lyla for the first time...well sort of. We had a 4D sonogram session and it was truly remarkable. We had a half hour session of getting to watch her play with her hands, toes, and umbilical cord. It was so wonderful to finally see what she does that makes Mommy so uncomfortable. I can't imagine how much I am going to love this child once she is out because after seeing her for 30 minutes through a monitor I fell even more in love with her. She was absolutely adorable with lots of hair they said, which is good because she has about 30 hair bows already. The technician also commented on how coordinated her hands were and how long her fingers were. I know Scott and he was already picturing her with a basketball but I myself saw dancer. She loved her feet and was constantly pulling up her foot to her head and playing with her toes. At one point she stuck her foot in her mouth and started licking her big toe...how lady like I know. She is measuring right on with our due date and weights a little over 2 1/2 pounds. She already has a double chin which I think is adorable! Before we knew it our 30 minutes were up and we had to say goodbye to our little Lyla. Seeing her this week has made me even more excited to be a mom. I really feel ready and am so anxious for her to join us in the world.
