The Big D!

I am going to apologize for the lack of blogging this past month and a half...our life once again was flipped upside down. I will try and shorten up the happenings of this past month as best I can.
Lyla and I got back from our vacation in Iowa to a very excited Scott at the airport. On the way home we discussed our options, as camp was over and we knew that the final cuts were only a week and a half away. Scott was pretty sure that he would be getting cut, based on how much they were using him in training camp. So final cut day came and we were right in our assumptions. Getting cut is never a fun thing, I can't imagine how Scott must feel when it happens. So after a call into Rick, Scott's agent, we played the waiting game. The next day we went to church, in hopes of getting football off our minds, when we got a call from Rick during church. Scott took the call and was told that there was no news. Shortly after he sat back down, he had received a text from Rick saying that the Cowboys wanted to pick him up on their practice squad. Church let out and we rushed home to start figuring out a plan and start packing. Luckily Scott's parents were out in Jersey visiting so they were able to help out with all the chaos. In a few hours, and a few break downs by me, Scott was on a plane to Dallas while we all packed up our apartment. Bryan and Linda were wonderful and stayed to help me pack up and watch Lyla. A few days later, the apartment was empty and Lyla and I were back in Dallas. I had very mixed emotions about being back. The first time we moved to Dallas I had the baby blues for a while, so a lot of the same feelings started coming back to me. I had been praying a lot about moving back and the Lord was so good and heard my prayers. Being back in Texas has been such a blessing. We are out of our tiny apartment and now renting a huge house on Lake Grapevine. We have a yard again, walking trails, family close by, and a billion yummy places to eat. I also started back up with my wives bible study so that has been wonderful, seeing all of my old friends.
The biggest blessing of all came a little over a week ago when the Cowboys decided to activate Scott onto their active roster. What an amazing amazing blessing the Lord has blessed us with. We are so thrilled to be here and even more thrilled to be a part of this team again. Scott is like a little kid on Christmas getting to set foot on the field again. The picture explains it all. Thank you to all of my friends and family who emailed, texted, visited, and helped us throughout this past month. We love you all so much and honestly couldn't get through these crazy fun years without your support.

Sorry!

Sorry family for the lack of blogging. I am waiting for Scott's computer to come from Jersey because mine crashed. Hopefully this week I will be all caught up on my blog!

Welcome to the Family Mrs. Bulman!

Yes I realize I am about two weeks behind on my blogging but it has been a rush of a week and I've barely had time to sit down. Just over a week ago we had another monumental "Bulman" wedding. Chad married his gorgeous bride Jill at the Outing Club in Davenport and it was GORGEOUS! Jill was a fabulous bride and looked like she fell out of a bridal magazine. They did such a great job of adding personal touches to the day to make the wedding more personal, from the jars of jam for the guests, to the garland flowers hanging outside. It was so much fun getting to FINALLY meet Jill's awesome family and friends. The day was so amazing, so much fun, and thanks to Isiah's parents, I was finally able to relax and dance on the dance floor with my family. Chad and Jill did a great job picking out music and the Bulman's went crazy on the dance floor all night long. It just wouldn't be a wedding if we didn't all gather around Uncle Otto and watch him put on a show. Yes we even had April and Uncle Otto dancing on top of a table at one point in the night. I adore my crazy family. Chad, I couldn't have picked a more perfect addition to this family. We are so excited to have such an amazing new sister in our family. Thank you for letting me be a part of your wedding day. It will forever be a memory that I will cherish.

Swimsuits Galore

Scottie I am going to apologize for the short blog and lack of variety in the pictures tonight. I have been busy organizing and packing for the past few hours and am getting pretty sleepy. We had another fun day of sleeping in (thank the Lord), lots of play time with the cousins, sprinkler fun, and dinner at Dairy Queen. I can't believe Sunday is almost here. Lyla and I are both over Skype daddy. It will be so nice to be together again! We miss you so much and are so happy that we will be snuggling in a few nights. We are so sad we won't be able to see your game on Saturday but really excited for Uncle Chady's wedding. I'm not going to tell you to score for us because maybe then you will score. Stay healthy and safe! We are praying for your safety and health. We love you so so much!

Sprinklers and Funtana

Another nice day in Oelwein at Grandma Leela's and Papa Doug's meant another fun trip to Fontana. Unfortunately for Lyla the raccoon was sleeping, but the black bear was up and Lyla got a kick out of seeing him. We also threw rocks in the water and played at the park. A bunch of Amish families were having a picnic so it was fun seeing them stare at Lyla and the kids playing on the playground. After we got home we ate lunch and hit the hay. Lyla has been sleeping like a bear these past few days, sleeping until 10 and napping for three hours in the afternoon. After our nap we ate dinner and hit up the sprinkler for a little refresher. The rest of the night was spent giving baths, bottles, and winding down. Scottie we can't wait to see you on Sunday! Four more sleeps until you get to snuggle your girls. We love you so so much sweetie. Glad that camp is almost over for you! Stay healthy and we will see you soon!!
