Today the Chandler family traveled to the Bronx to cheer on our Texas Rangers. As we pulled up to the "new" Yankee stadium I saw what was left of the old stadium. It was so sad seeing pieces of the outfield just hanging there. There was so much history, so many amazing players to enter that stadium. My entire life I wanted to go to Yankee Stadium and I came up a year to short. The new stadium is basically a replica of the original so it was still neat to be in the new stadium. We got to the game a few hours early so we could walk around, eat, and shop in the Yankee store for Papa Doug. I thought it was pretty funny that at every food stand they the calories for each item listed. Makes you think twice about buying that peanuts that had over a thousand calories. Lyla and I were probably two of thirty people who stood and cheered during the Ranger lineup. Overall the fans were really nice to us, probably because we had our charming Lyla with us. The highlight of the day was definitely when Derek Jeter hit a foul ball that hit the step next to me, knocked over my pop, then hit my foot. Lyla caught her first and probably only foul ball. We totally let her chew on it because it was so cute! All in all this was a day we will never forgot. We feel so blessed to be living where we are and to be able to do fun things like go to Yankee games. God is good!
