Sledding Fun
While we were back in Oelwein this weekend it got warm enough where we could take Lyla outside. Grandma Leela bought a Hawkeye snowsuit before all the grand babies were born to keep at her house. Even though it was an 18 month snow suit, we were able to make it work. We had a blast being outside. Lyla loved sitting in the sled with Momma and probably loved it even more when I fell out of the sled. She wasn't a fan of it being cold but as long as she could eat it she was happy. Another great weekend in Oelwein with Grandma Leela, Papa Doug, Apey, and Isiah. Only 3 more weekends in Iowa before we move out East...I am getting sad but super excited! Enjoy the silly snow pictures!

Happy Valentines Day
Again I start off another post by saying yes I realize it has been a while since my last post. These weeks have been flying by and with Scott being home during the day, I love spending time with he and Lyla...so as a result blogging has been put on the back burner. However I wanted to share some fun pictures from Lyla's first Valentines Day. While some were taken before the big day, I felt the need to post them. Instead of a Valentines Day, we stretched it out into a Valentines Day weekend. The Bezy's came into town so that meant everyone except Chad and Jill made it back to Iowa for a great weekend. My parents were sweet and gave us each a card with dinner reservations at an amazing restaurant in Iowa City and cash so we could have dinner on them. This mean leaving all three grand kids with my parents for most of the night. I felt a little guilty because I knew they would have their hands full, but nights out with my siblings are few and far between so we took advantage. We had a great night filled with yummy food, good conversations, and of course plenty of laughs. We woke up the next morning and said our goodbyes to the Bezy's and everyone basically went on their way. We had a pretty low key Valentines Day. My parents took us three, and April and Isiah out to lunch and then headed home. Lyla, Scott and I had so much fun playing with her our family all weekend that we slept for almost three hours that afternoon. So after we put Lyla down for the night Scottie and I enjoyed a nice bowl of cereal for dinner and got caught up on our t.v. shows that we missed that week. It's funny how your priorities change once you start a family. Before Lyla I would have been bored to tears and probably a little angry if we spend our V-day eating cereal and watching t.v. Now Lyla brings us so much joy everyday that I look forward to low key nights with just the three of us. It has been so amazing watching Scott and I's love evolve from each other onto our Lyla Bean. What a special Valentines Day it was for us this year! I love you Scottie for being such an amazing father and husband and always putting us before yourself. Lyla you are my little angel. I love you sweetie and feel so blessed to have such a sweet little girl by my side everyday!

To Grandmother's House We Go...
This past weekend our family of three hit the road and headed to Oelwein for a weekend with Grandma Leela and Papa Doug. Friday we spend the afternoon getting loved on by Aunt Apey and Grandma and Grandpa. We also played with all of our Christmas toys that we had left in Oelwein. Saturday we headed to Manchester, IA so that I could try on bridesmaid dresses for my best friend Kaly's wedding. I saw her in her dress and she looked AMAZING! It was so special being able to be back in Iowa and getting to help her a little with some wedding things. I seriously don't take a single second for granted while I am here for the next month. Once we got back Scott pointed out that New Moon was showing in the Starmont dollar theater. Ok I had wanted to see this movie since before it was even a movie! Unfortunately we didn't make it out to many movies thanks to Lyla and a busy football season. My parents were awesome and watched Lyla while Scott, Ape, and I went to see the movie. Of course I absolutely LOVED it and was sad when it was over. Thanks Mom and Dad for letting us get away and see a movie. The rest of the weekend was spent eating yummy food and AMAZING junk food, getting together with some of my parents friends who hadn't seen Lyla since she was a baby, a few late nights of competitive game play consisting of Yahtzee, Dominoes, What, and Sequence. I think I was the weekend champ however. Thanks Mom and Dad to an amazing weekend. It has been so awesome having you all so close. We really appreciate you clearing your weekends so that we can spend some time with you before we move. Ape and Isiah, thanks for playing with Lyla and giving Scott and I a break from parenting. You two will make adorable parents someday!
